Ahoy Spindrift members,
I wanted to pass some information along toeveryone. Don't forget about the celebration in Oologah this coming weekend, October 13-14. They are having stuff go on both day. Also the Marina is putting on the fireworksdisplay that was cancelled due to the bad weather. You might want to come early and get a good parking spot. There are always a large crowd and it will be a good show as always. We need to recognize 2 of our club members on their win at Grand Lake in the 24 hour race. Chris Johnson was the first place winner and Bill Apker was the second place winner in the Catalina 22 division. They had a difficult time due to the lack of wind, but both did an outstanding job. What a great representation for Spindrift. Bill is also going to the Texas coast in a couple of weeks to do another race on a 48ft boat. We know that he will do a great job and he should have a couple of good stories to tell when he gets back. Don't forget that the October social is coming up on the 27th. We are going to have a costume party and a bonfire so everyone needs to get their costumes ready. There may be some prizes for the costumes. We are having a board meeting before the social so if anyone has any questions or comments please feel free to come to the meeting. We will meet at the pavallion about 4:30 pm before the social. We will also make some announcements about the upcoming board elections coming in November. Enjoy the fall weather.
