Ahoy Spindrift members,
We had a board of directors meeting on Saturday, February 14th. To every ones amazement, we actually made some decisions.
The new calendars have been mailed out to members. The packet also includes the board members and an envelope containing a reminder of the club dues and a envelope to mail back with the payment. We would like all members to E-mail a picture of themselves and their significant other and boat information to Al Poole so that we can make a photo book of all the members. The E-mail address is Alpoole2002@hotmail.com. I want to thank Sue Oates and Skip Smith for all their help on the calendar, it looks great.
We are going to do some work on the committee boat to get ready for the race days.
Race commodore Bill Apker also wants everyone to know that this year we will be using flags to start the races. We will have a training day so that everyone gets the information.
The club is going to purchase a new grill to cook with for the socials. We are going to place it at the pavilion and enclose it in a locked box.
We also have a calling list to remind members of the races and socials. They will be calling 2 times a month.
We will be having a trivia contest this year involving Don Edwards. I will give out the details at the first social. We may also be having a best picture of the year contest, details to follow.
Everyone get ready for a exciting year that is starting really soon.
